Hej, I’m Emmet, welcome to my website! Through YESbodies, I strive to promote wellness for all bodies and identities from the perspective that there is no one true way to be healthy or look/feel fit. I am from Sweden and have been in the US in Oakland CA, for 14 years.
What I do
I support people in their efforts toward feeling good, embodied, and strong. To be more precise, I am a Corrective Exercise Specialist, Personal Trainer, and Nutrition Coach (through National Academy of Sports Medicine), as well as a Powerlifting and Kettlebell Coach, and some other things listed below. I offer in-person and online training and fitness classes. I am passionate about working with anyone who feels alienated by non-inclusive gym spaces, and I’m especially available to support hypermobile folks, and LGBTQIA+ gender expansive community who seek support towards improved wellness and mind-body alignment.
Why I Do It
All bodies are good bodies. Healthy and fit bodies come in many shapes and sizes. Those simple truths are unfortunately considered a radical idea in many fitness/wellness spaces. We should all be able to feel good about ourselves, and to truly thrive we need access to professionals and spaces free from hostility and judgement. Physical activity can be an empowering means of self-care and a solid source of fun – and I am here to support you in experiencing all of it!

Private Training
Intake session $175, 75min
60min $100-150 (I believe money shouldn’t be a limiting factor in accessing health/fitness services, so I offer a sliding scale)
My approach could be summarized as “keep it sustainable, do what’s available” and is centered around building and maintaining a strong functional foundation to help you feel good in your body for life. My main services are powerlifting, kettlebell training, strength and conditioning, functional training, corrective exercise, hypermobility support, training while navigating injury/pain, core stability and strength, glute development, and mind-body alignment. I place a strong emphasis on identifying and addressing muscle imbalances, and minimizing risk for injuries, in other words prehab over rehab. I also offer support with how to prepare and take care of yourself before, during, and after surgery.
Semi-Private Training (2-3 ppl)
Individual intake session $175, 75min
60 minute session, $150 (split between participants)
Before forming or joining a group, each participant must first have done an individual intake session. This format offers more personal attention than a regular class setting and the training is tailored to individual and shared needs of the participants. Aside from the financial benefit of sharing cost, this is a great way to add a more social aspect to your training, where you can have fun with your workout buddies and cheer each other on as you work side by side toward your goals.
Online
The session takes place on a platform that we agree on (typically Zoom). You position your device so that I can see you moving relevant to the exercises we’re doing. Your workouts can include equipment you have available to you, and I can also share ways to creatively make use of household items/furniture for your training. I can play music, or you can, or we leave music out of it. I demonstrate every exercise (and provide reminders for the ones you might know but want/need cues for); you try it out and I check your form and provide feedback to make sure you’re moving as safely as possible. If something doesn’t feel good, we explore a different way of doing it or swap the exercise for something else. Online training has an unbeatable commute and offers a bit more flexibility as far as scheduling.
Outdoors
Typically takes place at an accessible park or outdoor area that is not crowded and offers restroom/facilities, has shade options, good surfaces to stand/sit on, lean against and lay down on. We might utilize the features of the outdoor space or I/you might bring portable equipment, depending on what’s needed for the session.
Programming
Offered to current clients only
Want to do your own thing but not really sure how to plan your workouts? I got you covered.
BASIC: Your program will help keep you on track toward reaching your goals and also include some general “prehab” exercise options to keep your body as happy as possible in the process. Training will be set up in a way that avoids overuse of the same muscles, joints and ligaments.
TAILORED: Your program will help you reach your goals in the most efficient/realistic way possible as it is specifically tailored to your individual needs and circumstances, for example requiring a specific corrective exercise plan to address an injury or muscle imbalances. This is also where the “keep it sustainable, do what’s available” really comes into play as your program can include options for when certain parts of your body are not having a good day or you feel low energy, but you still want to move your body for reasons like mental health etc. All based on what will work best for you.
Nutrition Coaching
Schedule a free 30min consultation
Intake $150, 60min
Nutrition coaching can include weekly check-ins, accountability text and email support, cost will vary depending on scope.
As a Nutrition Coach, I provide non-medical nutrition support and mentorship regarding food and drink. I can educate you on the science behind nutrition, how food affects the body, and the benefits of eating certain foods. I can teach you how to read food labels and make informed choices about the diet you decide to keep. Sometimes, you can create the progress you want on your own. Other times, a coach can be that piece of the puzzle you are missing when you’re not quite achieving what you want to achieve. Some things I can help you with are
Nutrition coaching is centered around education and behavioral change. It is not a medial service, which means I do not prescribe specific meal plans, recommend or prescribe supplements, or treat disease.

You can do this one indefinitely and focus on breath, mind-muscle connection, foundational movement, stability, and strength and conditioning. Extra challenges are given that you can opt into. Priority is given to connecting with self and exploring your limits and boundaries with agency and curiosity (vs steamrolling yourself, as is often the case in many fitness/movement spaces).
